It allows you to access memories and feelings from your childhood that have been buried deep within your subconscious, gently bringing them to the surface so they can be understood, healed, and integrated. This work allows us to uncover deeply rooted emotions that may have been buried for years, helping us break free from subconscious patterns that no longer serve us. For example, feelings of rejection, abandonment, or inadequacy from childhood can manifest as difficulties in adult relationships, chronic anxiety, or low self-esteem. By healing these wounds, we reclaim our true sense of self-worth and well-being.

The concept of the inner child originates from both psychological and spiritual teachings. In psychology, Carl Jung referred to the “child archetype” as an essential part of our psyche, representing innocence, creativity, and curiosity. In spirituality, many ancient traditions, including those of Indigenous cultures and Eastern philosophies, emphasize the importance of returning to a childlike state of openness and wonder as part of spiritual awakening.

In Hinduism, there’s the concept of “Bal Krishna,” where the playful and innocent child form of Lord Krishna is celebrated, symbolizing joy and the purity of the soul. Similarly, in Christianity, Jesus spoke of the need to “become like little children” to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, which can be interpreted as returning to a state of innocence and trust in life.

In modern psychology, pioneers like Carl Jung and John Bradshaw brought the idea of the inner child to the forefront of therapeutic healing. Bradshaw’s work on “The Family” and “Healing the Shame that Binds You” explored how unresolved childhood trauma shapes our adult behaviors and relationships. This laid the foundation for therapeutic approaches that integrate both psychological and spiritual practices to heal the inner child.
